22THE ENCOUNTER
Follow her where her fate was decided. Joan of Arc leads guests through historic Rouen, across the sites of her trial and death. Accusation, courage and injustice gain extraordinary force when she tells the story herself.
Joan speaks for herself as she guides travellers through the Rouen of her trial. Interrogation, accusation and the traps set by her judges give presence to a story many believe they know. The group is invited to listen, separate truth from falsehood and reflect on the question of guilt.
Through the historic centre, the narrative connects places with the character’s human strength. Courage and injustice become tangible in an emotional journey towards the memory of her execution. It complements a Normandy programme centred on heritage, history or pilgrimage.
